2 Sources of information Internal information This is information which is only available to the business. This information will be private and accurate. Internal information may take the form of sales figures, personnel records, customer records, and financial documents such as trading, profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet. External information This is information which comes from outside the business. 1. Explain Information System Information System is a set of components for collecting, creating, storing, processing, and distributing information, typically including hardware and software, system users, and the data itself 2. Explain the type of information and give example: Qualitative Qualitative information is non numeric information based on the quality of an item or object. Example: If you were testing water then you might say that the taste is either nice or not so nice.  Quantitative Quantitative information is information than can be directly measured and can be seen as factual information rather than opinion.
